Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people (backers) through the internet. It has become a popular way of raising capital for a wide variety of projects from community developments to assisting with medical expenses, and raising capital to start a business. The webinar will cover: the common terms, various methods and taxability issues that occur with the crowdfunding models; and also learn if the donation is charitable, taxable or a gift.
