IRS today issued its updated 2018 withholding tables, integrating changes from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
IRS announced that this is the first of several steps that it will take to improve withholding accuracy in the wake of the new law. The updated tables show the rates employers are to use for 2018. IRS says that employers are to begin using the new tables as soon as possible, but no later than February 15, 2018. Until the new tables are implemented, employers must continue to use the 2017 withholding tables.
