  • January 14, 2016 EITC Due Diligence – Basic class
    • What is your responsibility as a tax preparer when it comes to EITC? This class will also qualify for 1 hour of ethics as we discuss, Form 8867 and what step you have to take to perform “Due Diligence”.  Circular 230 areas will be cited in addition to other areas where step of due diligence should, but are not currently required to be taken.  
    • Noon to 1 pm (Central Time)
    • 1 hour of CPE/CLE is offered (60 minutes of instruction)
      • Approved for enrolled agents and other tax return preparers - 1 hour of ethics CPE
        • Approved for Iowa attorneys - 1 hour of ethics CLE
        • Approved for Iowa CPAs - 1 hour of ethics CPE
        • Please note: Consult your state’s accrediting agency/board for its rules on admissibility of this course.  It is the responsibility of the attendee to understand and comply with state licensing CPE/CLE requirements
  • January 19, 2016 Identity Theft, What to Expect in 2016? – Basic Class
    • Be prepared to assist your client if they are a victim of ID Theft in 2016. What is the current process to get the case started? What steps must your client take it mitigate future ID Theft?  New rules concerning IP Pin usage and forms that need to be filed will be covered.  There is no way to speed the process along, but starting the process and follow up can save time and headaches at the practitioner and client level. 
    • 1 hour of CPE will be offered
    • Noon to 1 pm (Central Time)
