President Has Signed $2 Trillion Coronavirus Bill

March 27 Update: The CARES Act passed the House with a voice vote and President Trump has signed it into law.

Update: An Amendment In The Nature Of A Substitute To H.R. 748, The "Coronavirus Aid, Relief, And Economic Security ('CARES') Act, was unanimously passed by the Senate on March 25. The House is scheduled to vote March 27. We will provide more detailed information soon.

The Senate has been discussing provisions contained in what's being called the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act or Phase 3 Coronavirus legislation. The proposal would include $2 trillion of spending. Full text of the legislation has not been publicly released, but Chairman Grassley from the Senate Finance Committee has released a summary of provisions under consideration.
