Jennifer Harrington

Staff Attorney

Jennifer is a Staff Attorney at ISU’s Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation. She focuses on transition planning, specifically in the areas of business entity transitions and estate planning.

Prior to joining CALT, Jennifer was a partner at Buchanan, Bibler, Gabor & Meis, LLP, a county-seat practice in Kossuth County. She specialized in business entities such as Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) and closely held corporations. She also worked on a variety of estate plans for farmer clients. In law school, Jennifer participated in Environmental Moot Court and held officer positions with the Drake Agricultural and Environmental Law Association. Throughout law school, she clerked for Roxanne Conlin and had a summer associate position with Gislason & Hunter, LLP – a Minnesota based transactional firm.

Jennifer earned her B.A. in Global Studies, with an Economic Development minor from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and her J.D., with honors, from Drake University while completing a certificate in Food and Agricultural Law.

Jennifer continues to live in Algona, Iowa, with her husband and cat. For fun, she cans local produce and goes camping. She and her husband have a goal of camping at county parks in all 99 counties of Iowa.
