On July 31, 2015, the President signed into law a short-term bill designed to keep the nation’s highway trust fund on life support through October of 2015. The Surface Transportation and Veterans Health Care Choice Improvement Act of 2015 contains several tax provisions that will significantly impact tax practitioners. Particularly, the law adjusted filing dates for a number of entities. Attached below is a chart detailing these new dates and their effective dates. Most of these new dates do not apply until the 2017 filing season.
