Stimulus Payment Calculators

The IRS has announced that taxpayers will soon have available two types of online calculators to use in computing Economic Stimulus Payments and Rebate Recovery Credits.  One calculator will help taxpayers compute the amount of the Rebate Recovery Credit (if any) that can be claimed on the 2008 tax return.  IRS says that this calculator will be available online January 19, 2009.  The second calculator, which is expected to be available January 5, 2009, can be used to determine the amount of the 2008 Economic Stimulus Payment.  Until then, taxpayers can go the IRS website (www.irs.gov) and determine the amount of the Economic Stimulus Payment that was received in 2008 at "Where's My Refund?" and "Where's My Stimulus Payment?".
